Silent Films

Silent films have more potential advantages over sound films because in silent films they are forced to express emotions in there face and there body languages. The actor needs to express the idea of the movie through their actions. Directors have more problems creating a silent film because its hard for them a good actor to get what he is trying to get the audience to understand the Film. Viewers have problems understanding some of there Films without words. In Silent Films I have to pay way more attention then in movies that they talk in because I wont understand what is going on. I have to pay attention to there facial emotion and Body language.

  1. Interesting ideas here regarding the challenges of silent film. Could you give a concrete example or two from the films we watched where you see the facial emotions and the body language carrying especial importance?
